Liberty Tabletop is Concerned About Your Health & Safety

You exercise regularly, get your health checkups, provide healthy, nutritious meals to your family and get the daily requirement of water and sleep.

You’re careful about what you put in your body on a daily basis – but do you ever think about the flatware you use? When you grab a forkful of salad or spoonful of soup, do you know what else you’re putting in your mouth?  If your flatware isn’t produced in the United States, then you might be putting more in your mouth than you bargained for – and not in a good way.

You know that the products you choose to use can affect the health of you and your family, and unfortunately nowadays, your flatware has become a product you have to consider, too. Why? Because all of the flatware sold in big box stores today comes from overseas manufacturers.

In fact, at Liberty Tabletop, we’re the only company that manufactures our flatware solely in the United States – and that makes a big difference when it comes to the way it’s produced.

At Liberty Tabletop, we take the manufacturing process – and the materials we use – very seriously.

The major difference between Liberty Tabletop flatware and product that is manufactured overseas is in the metal quality. Some foreign markets don’t rigorously monitor and test their metals during recycling, melting or processing. Unfortunately unhealthy elements can be present in the steel they use to manufacture products, such as flatware.  As you have probably read there are continuous reports of imported consumer goods from flooring to toasters to baby toys that test positive for toxic contents such as formaldehyde, lead, asbestos, and even radiation.

Do you want to risk exposing yourself or your family to products that may include substances that we know can be detrimental to overall health?  We sure don’t, and we’re pretty sure you don’t either. At Liberty Tabletop:

• We only use stainless steel from American steel mills that follow stringent environmental & safety standards in the manufacture of our flatware.
• We meet or exceed all federal and state environmental regulations and standards.
• We never use harsh or carcinogenic chemicals in our process.

PrestigeJust as important as what the metal in your flatware is made from, is the finishing process that includes washing the product. In foreign facilities, trichloroethylene, or TCE, is frequently used as a cleaner in the final phase. Almost every flatware factory in Asia uses TCE in their process – and we think you should know that this compound is a highly toxic carcinogen. It almost never used in cleaning metal parts in the U.S.A. Why would a company ever want to introduce a potentially cancer-causing substance to their product?  Because it is cheaper and there are no regulations against it.

TCE has never been used by Sherrill manufacturing, where all Liberty Tabletop flatware is made, and never will be. We wash our product the same way you do at home, with soap and water.

And, at Liberty Tabletop, we care about the well being of our employees, too. We believe they should work in physically safe and environmentally safe conditions. We treat our employees like family members – as a matter of fact, many of them are! It is a priority of ours that our products are safe to make and safe to use, which is why we manufacture them from certified metal from safe, United States producers, and we never use dangerous chemicals in any of our processes.

Liberty Tabletop offers products that are safe for you and your family at a competitive price, too.

You might be wondering how can a company that produces their flatware in the U.S.A. compete with major brands, which produces their flatware overseas? The answer is simple – at Liberty Tabletop, we’ve cut out the middleman and sell directly to you, the end customer. This is not only safe for you and your family,  this marketing strategy enables us to be competitive.  When a customer purchases flatware from a big box store, the flatware company is giving up to 70 percent of their profit to the store. What is worse, the “iconic brand” that puts their name on the box takes about half of what is left over leaving the manufacturer with less than 15% of what you end up paying. It does cost us more to make product here in the United States, particularly since we are committed to producing quality and not cutting corners. Fortunately, with the direct selling model we can afford to produce safe quality product and deliver it to you at a competitive price!

How can we be sure we are competitive?  We Benchmark: Think made in U.S.A. quality produced with safety in mind costs too much? Think again. At Liberty Tabletop, we benchmark our pricing against imports to verify that our lines sell for an equal or lower price vs. the imports.  That way, we can ensure that we bring you superior flatware produced with your health and safety in mind..

It is our hope that one day, legislators will recognize the dichotomy and level the playing field, thus ensuring a consistent safety standards for products produced overseas.   Until then, we must be vigilant with our our day to day purchases.  We can vote with our pocketbooks and buy from manufacturers that are environmentally responsible, care about the health and safety of their customers & employees and behave in an ethical & socially responsible way.

At the end of the day, everyone wants peace of mind that the products they purchase will fully meet or exceed their expectations.  We understand that this can be difficult to do based on an image on your computer screen. We are very confident that our flatware will pass the test and therefore back up your purchase with a 100 percent satisfaction guarantee. If you are not completely satisfied with your purchase for any reason, simply return it within 30 days and we will return your full purchase price, no questions asked.

We feel strongly about the health and safety of all of our customers. To learn more, browse our patterns and discover how our dedication to your health and safety makes it possible for us to offer you a flatware product you can feel good about using, each and every day.
